My Last Blog Post

Dear Friends

For quite sometime now I have struggled with a decision as to whether I should continue with the blog, or not. I've now come to the point where I feel it's time for the last post - excuse the pun. Everything has a particular lifespan and a way of fulfilling it's purpose during that lifespan.

This blog has been going for longer than three years now and I've been touched by the extent of its growth in its followers and readership.  I've had the privilege of getting to know a large number of you so well that you' have become friends, even though I've never met you in the flesh, and that makes the decision so much harder. But I do feel that the time has come to let go of this blog and to venture on to something else.

Thank you for your support and for sharing so much with me. I'd like to express my gratitude to the many people who have engaged me through emails and those who have done the same through the comments section on the blog. Each of you have taught me so much more than you can ever imagine, far more than what I have shared on this blog. This, sadly, as I said, will be the last blog post.

I'm continuing to blog over on Wordpress, Candid Impressions, but not around the Chritian faith, or religion for that matter, but simple musings and insights concerning life in general.

If you would want to join me there I would love to have you, but I'm also aware that this is perhaps not what you would want as "Seeing More Clearly" specifically centered around the Christian faith.

Again, thank you for all you have meant to this blog and me and for making it in to something which I think has been worthwhile. May Divine blessing flow from within and lead you all on in to adventures of  faith not yet dreamt  of.

Peace be with you all.
Don Scrooby.

Oh Don, I will miss you so much, but you have helped me on my way. I will miss having a place to moan and rant, but I will look for you on the other post. Bye to all my blog friends here too. As ever Pauline.

  7. Don I think you know just how much I value your sharing of wisdom. I always appreciate the time taken for you to reveal truth that is substantial yet in clear easy-to-understand language. Your blogs have been an amazing catalyst for discussion & exploration in my Bible & fellowship group and we will miss them terribly.

    1. Christine, you've been such a gift. For me you have expressed the pulse of the younger generation and their deep dissatisfaction with nice neat little packages of faith. You have wonderful heart and intellect and your dancing spirit has been such a joy to relate to. Thank you for your contribution and what you've shared. Stay connected. Would love to hear how things are going for you.

  8. It sounds like a mature and well-thought out decision!
I am one that hates to see something 'old' go.
With our decision to serve in Canada next year, I am faced with giving and throwing things away. Ouch!
Your decision to stop 'Seeing is Believing' will help me to reflect more positively on this kind of change. Endings also mean new beginnings! The new has come and the old must pass away. Easier said than done though.
I enjoyed the 'feel good' sensation when I opened my e-mails and there was a 'Seeing More Clearly' mail in my inbox - that will be missed.
I have already visited 'Candid Impressions' and will continue to do so. I also hope for inspiration as I develop my own blogging skills. Visiting your blog space encouraged me to import my own musings from blogspot into wordpress - an easier blogging site to manage.
Thanks for regularly opening up the conversation on various topics around our faith - many that are seldom aired anywhere else.
    Blessings to you, Don.

    1. Jenny, it's been so good having you with us. Your commitment to the blog has really been appreciated and thank you for raising the issues when they needed to be voiced, especially in the area of gender sensitivity. What a challenge lies before you both - talk about something new and adventurous. You and Kevin certainly have that before you. What an opportunity. Strength to you both.

  9. Thank you Don for allowing me to use your blog as a place to express some of my own thoughts and struggles with the Christian faith.

I think your skill of interpreting difficult concepts in a way that's easy to grasp and understand, coupled with your gentle, considerate approach, has been such a gift to many people. But for everything there is a time...and I wish you well Don as you close this chapter and move on to something new.

Thank you for your support, and you're right, "...for everything there is a time" and I do look forward to moving on to something new. Again, thank you.

  10. Thank you Don for all those wonderful insights and the inspiration they gave me. The interesting comments they evoked are a sure sign that you filled a need. I salute your courage to end on a high note rather than spoiling the project by going on too long. That is exactly the same reason Jerry Seinfeld refused 10 million dollars to make one more series! You leave us with the challenge to find new pastures, strengthened by what you have taught.

See you on the other blog.

  12. Don, I will miss your voice, wisdom, and insights. You have taught me much and I am grateful. I trust, however, that your presence, life, and spirit will arise in a new way and continue affecting the lives of others. That is, after all, the way of resurrection is it not?

    Peace be with you,
    Mike
